Retroscreen Virology Limited To Have High Profile Presence At The International Symposium On Respiratory Viral Infections In Seoul, South Korea In March 2014

March 04, 2014 -- Retroscreen Virology, the global leader in anti-viral research and pioneer of the Human Viral Challenge Model, will be attending the 16th International Symposium on Respiratory Viral Infections, taking place in Seoul, South Korea, 13 - 16 March 2014.

Organised by The Macrae Foundation, a not-for-profit leader in the advancement of scientific knowledge in the field of infectious diseases, this event will bring together international thought leaders, and those performing visionary research and developing current treatments that benefit everyone in the health science field. The symposium will present practical aspects of current treatments and future prospects for respiratory viral infectious diseases through speakers, oral abstracts and poster abstract presentations.

Ian Meikle, Head of Business Development at Retroscreen, will be in attendance along with scientific research and medical colleagues, including Dr Hosnieh Fathi, (Associate Medical Director), Dr Ted Murray ( Senior Molecular Virologist) and Dr Robert Lambkin-Williams (Executive Scientific Advisor).

Dr Lambkin-Williams comments: “This is the 16th symposium in this series, and is therefore a solidly established and respected forum for the discussion and advancement of research and practical treatments for respiratory viral infections. Amongst the submissions from Retroscreen are abstracts from Dr Hosnieh Fathi, including “Observed changes in cardiac Troponin and ECGs in volunteers experimentally infected with RSV or Influenza A using the Human Viral Challenge Model”, and from Dr Ted Murray including “Validation of qualitative integrated cycler PCR (qicPCR) as a method for determining onset of infection in the human viral challenge model using RSV Memphis 37B.”

These abstracts will be posted on the Retroscreen website, www.retroscreen.com, at the commencement of the Seoul conference.

Dr Lambkin-Williams will give an oral presentation, as well as a poster, describing how the Human Viral Challenge Model is a reliable bridge between early stage pre-clinical and later stage field studies.
