Rachelle Davis Named President of SynCare, LLC

INDIANAPOLIS, June 1 /PRNewswire/ --Executive Vice President of Medical Management Rachelle Davis has been named President of SynCare, LLC. Davis will report directly to SynCare CEO Stephanie DeKemper and have chief responsibility for day-to-day operations of the disease management company.

"Rachelle is a strong leader with a proven track record of success. She is highly respected by our customers, members and her colleagues across the company," said DeKemper. "Her business acumen, strategic vision and expertise in every facet of medical management make her the right choice to lead SynCare's continued growth and success."

Well known in the Midwest healthcare community, Davis began her career as a staff nurse in 1995 and quickly rose to prominence as a medical management expert. Her strategic development and leadership, healthcare program design, outcomes research experience, and research and quality oversight have been a driving force at organizations such as Eli Lilly & Company, Clarian Health Partners, the Indiana State Department of Health HIV Services Advisory Committee and the Indiana Minority Health Coalition.

Placing Davis at the helm of SynCare's management will provide DeKemper with the opportunity to identify and grow other health care services that do not fit neatly into the SynCare business model that DeKemper developed and perfected. Selected as one of 50 Indiana Companies to Watch in 2009, the innovative disease and case management company has enjoyed exponential growth. SynCare currently provides services to more than a quarter million members in Missouri and Indiana and will soon expand its services to the State of Nebraska.

"Due to technological advances and a spirit of reform, the time has finally arrived when disease management can fulfill its promise to help physicians, patients and insurance organizations improve health outcomes and control costs," said Davis. "I can't think of a more opportune time to advance SynCare's disease management model to the national stage."

While the U.S. spends more on health care than any other country, it ranks behind 18 other industrialized nations in medically preventable deaths. It also ranks low in other health management categories, such as the average number of years that Americans live healthy lives.

Davis and the leadership staff at SynCare plan to continue their innovation in the disease management field by leveraging remote patient monitoring technology, changing individual behaviors, increasing personal responsibility and applying a holistic health management model to ensure people get the right care when they need it.

"Our goal is to achieve system-wide cost benefits through coordinated and proactive interventions with those populations that are at the most risk," said Davis. "I honestly believe we do this better than any other disease management company in the country."
