MASSY, FRANCE--(Marketwire - April 01, 2011) -

Quantum Genomics (NYSE Euronext Paris: MLQGC) announced today excellent results from regulatory preclinical studies conducted with the product QGC001, the first drug-candidate of a new class of central anti-hypertensive agents, brain aminopeptidase A inhibitors (BAPAI):

  * Anti-hypertensive activity of QGC001 after oral administration has been
demonstrated in spontaneously hypertensive rats and conscious
    hypertensive DOCA-salt rats
  * Toxicology, safety pharmacology and pharmacokinetics studies have
demonstrated that QGC001 is well tolerated both in rats and dogs at
doses superior to 50 times the dose showing anti-hypertensive activity
in rats and has a good bioavailability in dog.

Quantum Genomics plans to submit to AFSSAPS in the following weeks, a clinical trial application in order to initiate a single ascending dose (SAD) study in healthy male volunteer subjects and assess the tolerability of a single dose of QGC001 and its pharmacokinetics parameters in humans.
