PureTek to Relocate HQs to Atlanta; to Create 200 New Jobs

A Southern Calif.-based pharmaceutical company plans to relocate its headquarters and manufacturing to metro Atlanta — a move that would create up to 200 jobs. San Fernando, Calif.-based PureTek Corp. makes pharmaceutical, nutritional and personal care products. The company manufactures bulk and private label items for retail chains and branded drug companies in the United States. PureTek is said to be seeking up to130,000 square feet of space — about two-thirds of which would be devoted to manufacturing, according to a source familiar with the deal. The company, which will invest up to $15 million in the relocation, is said to have zeroed in on Jackson County — and specifically looked at the 962,000-square-foot "Rooker building" in the Commerce 85 Industrial Park. PureTek is also said to have considered a build-to-suit facility, the source said. PureTek CEO Barry Pressman was not available for comment late Thursday.
