Protein Metrics And Bruker Daltonics Inc. Sign Formal Agreement To Further Relationship

SAN CARLOS, Calif., Feb. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Protein Metrics Inc. and Bruker Daltonik GmbH today signed a formal co-marketing agreement, bringing the two companies closer together in providing scientists with a best-in-class solution for biotherapeutics characterization.  Bruker, a world leader in mass spectrometry, and Protein Metrics Inc., a dynamic creator of vendor-neutral software for protein characterization, will co-market biopharmaceutical software solutions using Protein Metrics software in combination with the Bruker maXis-II UHR-QTOF and rapifleX MALDI-TOF/TOF mass spectrometry systems.

Protein Metrics and Bruker will partner to develop workflow solutions for challenging assays in the biopharmaceutical industry.  Bruker MALDI and UHR-QTOF data is already efficiently processed by Protein Metrics software, and this collaboration will enable both parties to support customers in increasingly complex workflows. Protein Metrics supplies leading edge software that caters to an increasingly complex world of biotherapeutic analysis that requires the quality of high resolution data produced by Bruker mass spectrometers for large intact proteins, supporting top-down, middle-down, and bottom-up workflows.  With users across the range of biopharmaceutical analysis and production, this relationship will allow Bruker and Protein Metrics to partner with the industry to improve efficiency and enhance product quality. With a shortage of time and expertise to process complex analytical data, Protein Metrics produces best-in-class automated software to summarize, manage, and report information to managers for improved decision making.

"We are excited to be working with Bruker to serve our mutual customer base," said Eric Carlson, President and CEO of Protein Metrics.  "Our software will allow analysts to take full advantage of the data resolution from Bruker systems in order to rapidly and efficiently inspect and report on the critical details of their samples. We have seen some remarkable high resolution data for large intact proteins from Bruker's UHR-QTOF instruments that can impact all stages of development, and we look forward to a deepening relationship with Bruker in the years to come."

"Working with best-in-class software such as Byologic®, Intact MassTM, and ByonicTM in combination with our maxis-II UHR-QTOF for mAb characterization provides significant benefits to the user tasked with solving these complex problems.  Such collaborative partnerships benefit the industry because the combined innovative power of our two companies serve the best interests of our customers and help advance science', said Dr. Rohan Thakur, Executive Vice President for the Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry business at Bruker Daltonics.

Protein Metrics and Bruker will present posters and co-author papers on a wide variety of topics, including Intact Mass analysis, contaminant detection such as Host Cell Protein analysis and sequence variants, glycosylation studies, and peptide mapping.
