Professor Trevor Jones, CBE, PhD, DSc(Hon), FRCP, FMedSci, FBPhS, FRSM, FRSC has been appointed as an advisor to the board of Concept Life Sciences. Professor Jones, a visiting professor at King's College London, and a former Head of R&D at Wellcome has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the pharmaceutical industry and in academia and will now be working with the Concept Life Sciences’ board advising on current and prospective areas of business.

The Concept Life Sciences Group, which offers a comprehensive range of services to clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, agrochemical, petrochemical, chemical, food, environmental and consumer industries, was formed following the acquisition of Peakdale Molecular Limited, Scientific Analysis Laboratories Limited and Resource & Environmental Consultants Limited. It further expanded following the acquisition of CXR Biosciences and Agenda1 Analytical Services in 2015.

Commenting on his appointment Professor Trevor Jones said: “I am pleased to being appointed as an advisor to the Concept Life Sciences Group. Their combination of expertise is unique in the market. The business has been structured in such a way that it can provide efficient and effective end-to-end support to its clients; working with specific functional areas or working alongside a client from first concept through to the clinic door. This means that clients can benefit from individual specialities as well as the scale and breadth of the Concept Life Sciences business.”

Speaking about the appointment Michael Fort, Executive Chairman of Concept Life Sciences said: “The rationale for the creation of the Concept Life Sciences Group was the recognition that there is a need in the market for a services organisation that has a proven track record in discovery science, problem solving and collaboration. We have built an organisation that delivers one of the widest range of analytical services available in Europe. In order to stay at the forefront of what we do we recognise that we need to engage with the best and brightest people in the industry and stay abreast of the ever-changing nature of the industries with which we work. In terms of industry knowledge and experience you would have to look far to find someone with greater credentials than Trevor so we are delighted that he has agreed to work with us.”
