Philips Healthcare to Bring 100 Jobs to Northeast Ohio

About 100 health-care industry jobs carrying six-figure salaries are moving from San Jose, Calif., to Highland Heights in northeast Ohio, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Philips Healthcare plans to bring a research and development facility for imaging technology to the state with jobs averaging a salary of about $115,000, the newspaper reports. Mentor-based Steris Corp. (NYSE:STE) also is planning a "significant investment," but the number of jobs it could create is unclear, according to the newspaper.

Gov. John Kasich is expected to visit the two companies Tuesday to make formal announcements about the jobs, the newspaper reports.
