Pharma Giant Merck & Co. Scoops Up UK Software Firm for Undisclosed Amount

Merck Selects CRedit360 to Manage Sustainability Data Consistently across Their Global Organisation

CAMBRIDGE, England--()--Merck, a leading company for innovative and top-quality high-tech products in the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors, has chosen CRedit360’s award-winning software to help improve the consistency of its global sustainability data management and reporting. The German based company, which employs around 39,000 people in 66 countries, will use the CRedit360 system to track environmental, energy and health and safety data across its four major divisions – replacing several existing software solutions that do no longer fulfil Merck Group’s requirements. CRedit360’s integrated management software will provide an easy and intuitive way to capture and centralise group sustainability data, eliminating error-prone manual data transfers and improving data integrity.

CRedit360 won the business after thoroughly demonstrating that its system would fulfil Merck’s rigorous criteria on a functional and a technical level. This includes versatility, ease-of-use, ability to capture data at invoice level, reporting at different organisational levels, improving efficiency and providing a robust audit trail.

“We sought a highly configurable and flexible system to streamline our data collection and reporting,” says Gerd Vollmer, Senior Environmental, Health & Safety Manager at Merck. “The CRedit360 team was able to demonstrate in a credible and consistent way that its solution would fulfil our current needs and is scalable enough for future demands as well. We look forward to using it to record a single version of our sustainability performance across our global business and improve the quality and accuracy of our reporting.”

Some 500 employees all over the world will use the CRedit360 system to track, analyse and report its annual, monthly and even invoice-level sustainability data across 140 reporting units, with a focus on manufacturing sites. Because of the innovative dashboard and reporting features, Merck Group will be able to view the data at divisional and group level and channel relevant figures into its external reports as well as its internal KPI management and performance tracking. CRedit360’s integrated approach also enables Merck Group to track EHS incidents across the group within the same system, including safety, legal and spill information on a monthly basis.

“We are very proud to be helping Merck Group to gain a more reliable global view of its sustainability performance and were pleased to demonstrate in detail how our system corresponded to its requirements”, says Elisabeth Huber, Director of Business Development DACH Region, CRedit360. “Improving the consistency of sustainability and EHS data management at a global level is a common challenge for major companies and I have every confidence that our solution will help Merck Group take its reporting to the next level.”
