Pharma Giant Bayer AG Plans to Create 1,000 New Jobs in Australia

International pharmaceutical giant Bayer is planning to boost its investment in Australia and create nearly 1,000 jobs. The European company, which has operations in health care, crop science and material science in Australia, is planning to boost its workforce of 850 people by another 5 per cent over the next three to four years. The introduction of new medical products to the Australian market over the next few years is also expected to boost its Australian sales revenue by more than 10 per cent a year to more than $1 billion by 2015. Bayer’s plans include establishing a new wheat and oil seed breeding station at Horsham in Victoria, the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere for the company.
