Perrigo Company's $192 Million Michigan Expansion to Create 400 New Jobs

Perrigo will bring 400 jobs and $200 million in investment to Holland Township at its JB Laboratories location, Gov. Rick Snyder announced today. Another $42 million and 250 jobs will be centered at its headquarters in Allegan. The announcement came as Snyder touted 14 companies preparing to invest $1.1 billion and add 4,590 jobs in Michigan. The company is planning to add infrastructure and equipment to its site in the city of Allegan and a new facility and new equipment in Holland Township. As a result of the expansion, the Michigan Strategic Fund approved an increase in the maximum allowance for qualified new jobs on the company’s MEGA tax credit from 400 to 1,050. Holland Township and the city of Allegan are offering 12-year 50 percent real and personal property tax abatements as part of the deal. Hiring could begin in stages as soon as the end of the year, officials said.
