The Allegan City Council has given tax abatements on $23 million of property owned by the L. Perrigo Company, a move that can mean 250 new jobs in the next two years. The actions involve two plants: Plant 4 at 655 Hooker Road and Plant 7 at 506 Eastern Avenue. The Plant 4 action is an industrial facilities tax exemption of 50 percent for 12 years for Perrigo expanding its tablet-making operation. It includes more space and equipment.
