Pennsylvania Bio CEO: Shire Move A Wake-Up Call
Pennsylvania Bio President and CEO Chris Molineaux views Wednesday's news that Shire (NASDAQ; SHPG) is moving its U.S. headquarters— along with more than 500 employees — from Chester County to Lexington, Mass, as a wake-up call for Pennsylvania's elected officials.
"It sends a strong message to our state government that Pennsylvania needs to do a better job of showcasing to the world that we have the talent, resources and desire to be the U.S. hub for life sciences," said Molineaux, "If the state doesn't recognize that we will continue to lose scientific talent, companies and jobs to other states."
