Pegasystems (PEGA) Solution for Life Sciences Transforms Customer Interactions

6/16/2011 10:07:00 AM

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - June 16, 2011) - Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), the leader in Business Process Management (BPM) and software for customer centricity, today announced a new customer relationship management (CRM) offering for life sciences. Pega Customer Process Manager (CPM) for Life Sciences™ enables organizations to increase operational cost efficiencies while providing superior customer interactions consistently across all communication channels. This can include sales and marketing activities, key opinion leader (KOL) management, patient assistance and automated subject retention programs.

The life sciences industry is rapidly transitioning from concentrating on product-focused business strategies to a more customer focused model. Life sciences organizations must gain competitive advantage by getting closer to all of their customers and partners through every channel across functions, regions, and customer segments. With this new Pega solution, organizations can effectively integrate all CRM interactions, across clinical, safety, support and sales and marketing, to achieve new levels of efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Using process-driven interactions to optimize each customer experience from a single, unified platform, this solution allows customers to bridge silos of information, helping synchronize global sales, marketing and clinical strategies. This new solution also leverages CRM to facilitate safety and risk management, as well as more efficient regulatory compliance. Leveraging Pega's Build for Change® technology, life sciences organizations can tailor the solution to quickly adapt to new markets and address changing business and regulatory needs. This is Pega's latest life sciences industry-specific solution, building upon the previously released Life Sciences Industry Foundation and Adverse Event Case Processing solutions.

The solution will be on demonstration in Booth 207 at the DIA Annual Meeting (June 19-23 in Chicago) and also at the Life Sciences CRM Forum (June 21-22 in Philadelphia).

As a recognized industry leader, Pega enables life sciences organizations to Build for Change® and dynamically adapt their customer-facing business processes to optimize business outcomes.

Quotes & Commentary:

Melonie Warfel, Principal, Life Sciences Solutions at Pegasystems
"In order to be successful in addressing customer needs in this highly regulated market, life sciences organizations need to leverage advanced technology to interact with their customers and to transform customer interaction into competitive advantage. Unlike most legacy CRM systems which are rigid and limited in their ability to support growth and change, Pega's proven technology rapidly adapts to new requirements, regulations, and markets, driving down costs while improving both customer experience and retention. With this newest addition to our growing portfolio of industry-leading Pega BPM solutions for life sciences, organizations can quickly respond to ongoing changes in a market, business segment or even a specific region."

Eric Newmark, Program Director, Business Systems Strategies, IDC in his report, "The Future of CRM Design," June 2010.
"Right now, CRM is viewed as an application that requires constant interaction with, and utilization of (CRM), to make it useful. Instead, CRM should be a process that runs in the background, intelligently capturing all information on its own."
