Ocimed GmbH, based in Friedberg/Hessen, Germany will distribute the kits in Europe. The internationally acclaimed research aid has customers in India as well as across the globe, especially in the United States and in Asia. While the kits have many buyers in Europe, this strategic move aims at increasing the customer base in that region while ensuring better quality of service to the existing customers.

About Spoligotyping Kit:
Spoligotyping Kit is a simple, inexpensive, and effective tool for Tuberculosis/Mycobacterium research. This technique is highly useful for clinical samples as it can detect the causative bacteria and is capable of providing epidemiological information on strain identities. The specificity and sensitivity of this technique has been found to be 98% and 96% respectively with the clinical samples.
Spoligotyping is a RLB (Reversed Line Blotting) technique offers an alternative for typical Southern blotting when results are required. This is an efficient PCR-based method to simultaneously detect and type Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex bacteria in clinical samples (suspected nosocomial infections, outbreaks in prisons, etc.).
