Obesity Gene Works By Increasing The Appetite, University College London Scientists Have Discovered

Telegraph -- A study of more than 3,000 children shows that those who had the gene were less likely to feel "full" than their classmates. Previous studies had linked the gene to an increase in obesity but scientists did not know if the correlation was down to its effect on how the body burns calories or on appetites.
