Nurse Reused Syringes While Giving Flu Shots

On Wednesday, the state Department of Health revealed that a nurse reused syringes while administering flu shots to more than 60 employees of a pharmaceutical company. The department also said that there are very low risks of infection as syringes were used by the nurse last week, and not needles.

There are low risks of infection, but still the employees should test for hepatitis B and C and HIV, said state and local health officials. According to the officials, the 'infection control breach' happened on September 30 when a nurse at TotalWellness gave flu shots to a number of employees of Otsuka Pharmaceutical in West Windsor.
