Now Available Free Of Charge: Diasend® Personal, A Web-Based System, Helps People With Diabetes To Upload And Monitor Glucose Levels, Insulin Dosages, Physical Activities, And Share Their Information With Health Care Providers

ASKIM, Sweden, November 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

Diasend announced today that people with diabetes will now have unlimited access to diasend® Personal free of charge. diasend® Personal enables a user-friendly uploading process and online access to data from glucose meters, insulin pumps, and CGMs (continuous glucose meters). Reports are displayed in a universal format, regardless of the device being uploaded. In addition, Diasend is introducing compatibility with additional devices and also a feature which integrates activity data from systems such as: Fitbit, Moves and Nike Fuelband.

diasend® Personal is for people with diabetes who would like to have a better overview of their glucose levels, insulin pump dosages, and physical activities. By keeping blood sugar levels within a normal range, people with diabetes can live longer and healthier lives.

Complications from diabetes can occur due to elevated levels of HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin). Examples can include: kidney damage, stroke, and amputation. As Type 1 diabetes is a life-long disease, it is important that those living with diabetes are provided with efficient care and the highest standards of education for self-care.

People living with diabetes can now register for a diasend® Personal account free of charge at http://www.diasend.com . The system provides streamlined communication between patients and clinics, allowing information to be sent prior to a doctor visit, and resulting in more productive phone consultations. Once the registration at diasend.com is completed, the diasend® software can upload data from devices, and safely stores the data in the user account at diasend.com.

"We are driven by developing smart and easy solutions that streamline tasks, like communicating with diabetes clinics, for those living with a complicated disease like diabetes," said Anders Sonesson, CEO of Diasend. "We will further develop our global and universal communication platform within diabetes and launch additional exciting products and services during 2015."

The diasend® system is used in diabetes clinics world-wide to upload and evaluate data for adult, pregnant and pediatric diabetes patients.
