Data on all 255 patients who participated in questionable clinical research on a therapeutic drug for leukemia sold by Novartis Pharma K.K. was leaked to the pharmaceutical company, according to the University of Tokyo Hospital. The hospital, one of 22 that participated in the research, has been investigating the case. On Friday, the hospital announced an interim report on its findings. “[The leak] is a serious breach of confidentiality as well as a violation of the Personal Information Protection Law,” hospital director Takashi Kadowaki said at a press conference.
