Novartis AG Deal Makes GlaxoSmithKline's Pennsylvania Staffers Nervous

GlaxoSmithKline might be laying workers off but, others are hiring too! Check it out! (Isn't it tempting?)

GlaxoSmithKline’s mutlibillion-dollar deal with Novartis announced Tuesday morning is expected to impact the drug company's workers in western Montgomery County the most. Several hundred Philadelphia-area GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE: GSK) workers, most of whom work at the pharmaceutical company’s Collegeville, Pa., research facility, are involved in the research and commercialization of the cancer products going to Novartis. As part of the deal, Novartis, (NYSE: NVS) which is based in Switzerland and has U.S. pharmaceutical operations in North Jersey, is acquiring GlaxoSmithKline’s marketed oncology products and related research and development activities.

Don't forget, hundreds of biopharma companies are hiring! (We know you can't resist.)
