The Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. announced Tuesday that it will be closing its Old Mill Road plant in the next two to three years, a move that will affect hundreds of local employees. Julie Masow, a company spokeswoman, said the process of closing the plant will begin in the second quarter of 2014 and continue until 2016 or 2017. Some employees who perform “necessary functions” will be transferred to other facilities.
