NextImage Medical And WorkWell Become "WorkWell Prevention & Care"

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - April 28, 2015) - NextImage Medical, Inc., a leading provider of cost containment solutions to employers and Workers' compensation payors, today announced that it has relaunched as WorkWell Prevention & Care (WWPC). The newly minted WWPC will provide a comprehensive suite of products and services focused on prevention, wellness, treatment and return-to-work, becoming the first provider of prevention services to the Workers' compensation market.

WWPC brings together the collective clinical expertise of WorkWell and NextImage, which have been operating together under the NextImage corporate name since NextImage acquired WorkWell in 2014. NextImage delivers high-quality diagnostic services to Workers' compensation payors, and WorkWell has been providing injury prevention and musculoskeletal wellness programs to Fortune 1000 employers for more than 25 years.

Liz Griggs, Chairman and CEO of WWPC, noted a significant, unmet demand among employers and insurance carriers for integrated solutions that address both workplace injury prevention and post-injury care. "Prevention and wellness are critical to keeping employees on the job and avoiding the downstream costs of injury," said Ms. Griggs. "WWPC is bringing to the market a game-changing suite of innovative programs, products, and services aimed at injury prevention, early intervention and return-to-work with the goal of significantly reducing medical and disability costs. This is a step change improvement over the treatment services available in Workers' compensation today, which only begin after an injury has occurred. "

WWPC has a nationwide network of highly-qualified diagnostic centers and physical therapists. The company's injury prevention services include pre-work screens and Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE), as well as on-site training. WWPC's novel physical therapy treatment program leverages decades of clinical experience to provide customers with superior quality and outcomes. Through its world-renowned educational programs, WWPC has trained thousands of physical therapists to certify them as "WorkWell Quality Providers," a recognized standard of excellence in the industry.

"As leading clinicians and educators in the musculoskeletal wellness and prevention space, we are excited to deliver our prevention and early intervention services to the Workers' compensation market," said Margot Miller, Chief Clinical Advisor to WWPC and former President of the Occupational Health Special Interest Group of the Orthopaedic Section of APTA. "We have consistently shown that utilization of our innovative programs results in significant cost savings to customers."
