New Tiny Device for Single-Sided Deafness, Sonitus Medical Reveals

Until recently, surgery was the only option to restore hearing to people with single ear deafness. A surgeon placed a titanium implant in the bone behind the ear, which was then attached to a sound processor device that transmitted sounds through the bone to the good ear. A similar, but much less invasive option is now available.
