New Ketone Testing Content Available on Stanbio Laboratory Web Site

BOERNE, TX – February 5, 2013 – Stanbio Laboratory has posted new beta hydroxybutyrate laboratory testing content to its on-line Learning Center. A recently recorded Grand Rounds presentation entitled Metabolic Disturbances That Lead to ß-Hydroxybutyrate and Ketone Bodies can now be viewed by medical professionals visiting the Stanbio Laboratory web site at www.stanbio.com/bhb. The web site will link to the Grand Rounds content with a click of the Learning Center icon at the upper right corner of the page. The December presentation was made by James H. Nichols, PhD, DABCC, FACB. Dr. Nichols is Professor of Pathology, Microbiology & Immunology, and the Medical Director for Clinical Chemistry at the Vanderbilt School of Medicine.

The Grand Rounds was hosted at a large Mid-western medical school as part of an ongoing clinical education program. More than 40 physicians and clinicians attended to learn about identifying metabolic disturbances through quantitative ketone testing.
