Neuro Kinetics, Inc. Releases New Version of VEST™ Control & Analysis Software

PITTSBURGH, PA--(Marketwire - March 28, 2013) - Medical device manufacturer Neuro Kinetics, Inc., (NKI) (www.neuro-kinetics.com) will showcase the latest version of its VEST™ control and analysis software at the American Academy of Audiology's AudiologyNOW! 2013 conference next week in Anaheim, California (www.audiologynow.org).

The VEST software is the platform that controls NKI's I-Portal® oculomotor technology used in conjunction with the company's various diagnostic devices. Audiologists, neuro-otologists, and neurologists and other specialists use the software to conduct patient tests for a range of vestibular and balance issues, and to generate test data, prepare reports and manage patient care.

"We have been serving audiologists and others around the world for 25 years, and this conference is always an important annual event for us," said Vince Kytka, director of operations and marketing. "This year we are especially excited to spotlight our ongoing commitment to improving the VEST software package. We have a lot to showcase."

The new VEST version 7.x features a number of benefits, including:

  • Enhanced 64-bit platform using single PC with Windows® 7 reduces foot print and provides increased performance and efficiency;
  • Upgraded report structure and selection matrix provides an intuitive and enhanced user interface to reduce report pages and streamline patient documentation;
  • Video saving and playback now added for all NOTC tests with enhanced video compression allowing 10x smaller files;
  • Improved performance of pupil detection and torsion algorithms with torsion now running at 100 hz.

"Our improvements to VEST stem from the feedback and suggestions from our users, and directly correlate to improved diagnostic opportunities for the audiologists and other specialists we serve. New research, from us and others, increasingly demonstrate that eye is the portal to the brain, and that highly precise measurements of eye movements can be an indication of an extensive range of medical issues," Kytka said. "We are building the science to see more."

AudiologyNOW! 2013 conference attendees may schedule a detailed demonstration of VEST 7.x by calling 412-963-6649 or e-mailing info@neuro-kinetics.com.
