Nepal Hospital Installs A Carestream Digital Imaging System; Transmits Images To Remote Physicians, Specialists For Review

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 7 – Bayalpata Hospital in western Nepal installed a CARESTREAM Vita CR system with Image Suite software through a grant from the Rotary Foundation. The system allows X-ray images to be digitized and viewed throughout the hospital. In addition, X-ray images can be exported from the CR system for review by remote physicians and orthopaedic specialists to enable timely and efficient care for a variety of diseases and conditions.

The hospital is establishing a connection that will allow physicians at Grande Hospital in Kathmandu to view images and provide remote consultations for trauma patients at Bayalpata Hospital.

Carestream’s high-quality, small-footprint Vita CR Systems are designed for clinics, practices and hospitals that need compact digital solutions at an affordable price. Image Suite Software features an easy-to-use, touch-friendly interface, an enhanced set of tools and streamlined workflow. A mini-PACS module improves image management and allows for remote consultations.
