Mott Corporation Offers Porous Components in a Variety of Refractory Metals

Farmington, CT (Jan 2013) - Mott Corporation announces the availability of porous metal components and filters in a variety of refractory metal alloys including zirconium, titanium, tungsten, molybdenum, and niobium. Known for outstanding chemical resistance, high strength, and thermal stability, refractory metals can meet the most demanding operating conditions. Mott can design porous components or entire filter assemblies using refractory metals to meet various flow control or filtration requirements, to exacting tolerances and down to sub-micron particulate removal. With melting points from 2400ºC, to over 3400ºC, porous components in refractory metals can meet the most demanding filtration or flow control requirements. In addition, refractory metals are electrically conductive and chemically inert and can be a suitable material of construction for many where higher operating temperatures are critical.

Mott Corporation has been providing engineered solutions through the use of porous metal technology and development since 1959. Applications and processes are enhanced through the use of porous metal because it is cleanable, durable, and has uniform porosity. The unique nature of the porous structures coupled with the characteristics of refractory metal alloys such as high strength, high temperature and corrosion resistance make Mott materials ideally suited for extreme applications.

Mott has design/development teams that continually engineer porous metal components, sub-assemblies and finished products for applications in a wide variety of industries, including biotechnology, medical, chemical, petrochemical, instrumentation, food and beverage, semiconductor, and alternative energy. Contact our design team and let us demonstrate what refractory porous metals can do for your next engineering challenge.
