Mirada Medical Helps PET/CT Providers Stay Competitive -- Showcases Latest Solutions at Annual Society of Nuclear Medicine Conference

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - June 10, 2012) - In the few short years since PET/CT became a multi-modal procedure of choice for cancer staging and therapy assessment, many providers are now facing tough competition from the growing number of scanning services entering their markets. Mirada Medical has developed their entire product line to offer customers innovative ways to differentiate their PET/CT service and improve workflow efficiency. The company will be demonstrating how successful PET/CT providers are competing more effectively with Mirada's products at the annual Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM) meeting (booth #619) in Miami Beach, June 9-12.

"PET/CT providers, like all successful enterprises, must continually innovate and improve their quality and service to remain competitive," stated Hugh Bettesworth, CEO of Mirada Medical. "The suite of advanced Mirada software solutions we are demonstrating at SNM has been developed to help PET/CT providers stay on the competitive cutting edge and deliver better patient care."

Improving communications with referrers is the latest focus of Mirada Medical. Referrers and their patients want quick and comprehensive PET/CT results. Mirada's Caseaccess allows radiologists to offer the referrer a more comprehensive service, giving them secure online access to their patient's image data and findings. The referring physician can log onto the Caseaccess portal and access the full PET/CT study performed by the radiologist in Mirada's XD3 reading platform, including images, detailed reports, bookmarked key findings, quantitative measurements and the ability to track the patient's progress across time. As a result, the referrer is able to offer a premium service to the patient using the portal by reviewing the key findings and progress with them.

PET/MR imaging has continued to gain interest since the introduction of the first dedicated scanners at the 2011 annual meeting. Although PET/MR is clinically superior at visualizing certain types of soft tissue lesions, the five million dollar price tag of dedicated scanners and lack of PET/MR reimbursement has limited their implementation to a few elite institutions. Mirada Medical's Software PET/MR provides the same results as a scanner/hardware based PET/MR at a fraction of the cost. The company utilizes their validated CT/MR deformable registration algorithm to fuse the CT for PET/CT with an MR and view the fused PET/MR. For those PET/CT providers wanting to differentiate their service to referrers, Mirada's software PET/MR is a clinically and cost effective bonus.

Mirada is also helping its customers differentiate their PET/CT service with a host of advanced Quantitative Reading tools in its XD3 software suite. In addition to qualitative PET/CT studies, readers can quantify changes over time, notably assessing response to therapy.

Many radiologists are required to regularly attend important multi-disciplinary meetings. Until now, this has been a painful process, both preparing for and presenting at these tumor board meetings. With Mirada Mirada's Casemeeting software, there is a huge time savings in preparation, as well as agility in showing the whole volume of data along with image manipulation tools during presentations, not just static slides. Casemeeting allows the radiologist to demonstrate the vast qualitative and quantitative capabilities of Mirada's XD3 advanced imaging software to differentiate further the provider's PET/CT service in real time the multi-disciplinary referrers who attend the tumor board meetings.

Mirada Medical is taking reservations on their web site for personal demonstrations during the SNM meeting of how their innovative software solutions help differentiate customer's PET/CT service and attract referrers. Demonstration times can also be scheduled at the booth (#619).
