Miniaturized Scanner Zooms In On Disease, Harvard Medical School Study

New Scientist -- A handheld nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) scanner that can diagnose diseases and identify pathogens has been built by scientists in the US. The revolutionary scanner is many times smaller than conventional NMR spectroscopy machines, which require huge magnets to create the powerful magnetic fields necessary to make them work.
