"Metal-on-Metal" Hip Replacements Linked to Complications, Oxford University Study

NY Times -- About a decade ago, just as a new generation of metal-on-metal artificial hips were starting to be used, some studies noted their potential to produce high levels of metallic ions, causing what were thought to be allergic reactions in some patients.
