Merck & Co., Inc. Spent $2.3M Lobbying

WASHINGTON - Drug maker Merck & Co. Inc. spent $2.3 million to lobby the federal government in the first half of 2007, according to a recent disclosure form. The company lobbied on legislation that would increase funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration, and on patent reform issues, according to the form posted online Aug. 13 by the Senate's public records office.
