Medtronic, Inc. Device Under Scrutiny

Some doctors have stopped using a popular model of defibrillator wire lead made by the company after being alerted that the device may tear. There is no recall. In late March, Medtronic Inc. sent a letter to doctors advising them that the wire leads in a line of widely used heart defibrillators could tear at a "higher than expected" rate.
