Medpace, Inc., a global leader in clinical research for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, has announced it is beginning construction on its new corporate headquarters in the City of Cincinnati's Madisonville neighborhood.

City of Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory and City Manager Milton Dohoney, Jr. will join State of Ohio Development Director Lisa Patt-McDaniel in the January 14, 10 a.m. groundbreaking ceremony for Medpace. Laura Brunner, Executive Vice President, Al. Neyer, Inc., August Troendle, Medpace President and CEO, and Robert Igoe of the Madisonville Community Council are also expected to provide remarks at the start-of-construction event at the site.

Medpace said it has hired Al. Neyer, Inc. to design and build a 132,000-square foot facility as part of a new 29-acre development at Madison Road and Red Bank Expressway. A Medpace related organization purchased the site and Medpace was granted Ohio Job Creation Tax Credits and a City of Cincinnati Job Creation Tax Credit in 2008.

The new facility is the first of what is envisioned as at least two separate office buildings for Medpace. The company is growing rapidly and will bring its current 600 employees from Norwood to the new facility, as well as add an estimated 760 new jobs by the year 2014.

"We have received tremendous support from the State of Ohio, City of Cincinnati, and the Madisonville community to accommodate our expanding needs at the Red Bank site," according to August Troendle, President and CEO of Medpace. "Building a state-of-the-art facility will support long-term Medpace growth and define our corporate presence in Cincinnati. It has been rewarding to reclaim a former industrial site for the benefit of the surrounding community."

The City of Cincinnati recently was awarded $3 million in state grant money to clean up the property. The site had been formerly occupied by NuTone, a manufacturer of door chimes, fans and other products.

"From site preparation and remediation to business development support, collaboration between Cincinnati, the State of Ohio, and Medpace is creating jobs for Ohioans and growth for our economy," said Lisa Patt-McDaniel, Director of the Ohio Department of Development. "Regional strengths in the pharmaceutical and biomedical industries help to make a strong case for investment in our state, and we welcome Medpace's decision to grow in Ohio."

"This is the type of job creation deal that our GO Cincinnati strategy is designed to produce," Mayor Mark Mallory said. "By focusing resources in strategic areas, we can attract companies to Cincinnati that will bring skilled, high-paying jobs in the growing industries like life sciences."

Medpace chose Al. Neyer based on the strength of the site plan and building design, as well as its experience building for health-care clients, including Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Dayton VA Medical Center and Mayfield Clinic.

"We're delighted to work with Medpace, designing a global headquarters to LEED-Certification specifications," said David Neyer, President, CEO, Al. Neyer, Inc "This project represents new vitality in a green environment that defines our collective interpretation of a healthy economic future."
