MDMA Names Thomas C. Novelli as MDMA's Director of Federal Affairs

WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas C. Novelli as the new Director of Federal Affairs.

Novelli joins MDMA after serving on the US Senate Committee on Finance for Senator Charles Grassley from 2003 to 2007. At the Committee, Novelli worked on several areas directly affecting the medical device and pharmaceutical industries including reimbursement, drug and device safety and approval, and fraud and abuse in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.

At MDMA, Novelli will work on a number of critical issues facing the industry, including timely and adequate reimbursement, efficient FDA reviews, and open market access.

Novelli received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Dayton, and Master of Arts in policy from The Catholic University of America.
