MCT-Congress Presents Global Stage To Address The Realities Of Mobile Technology In Clinical Trials
2nd annual congress brought together global leaders to share knowledge, evidence and learnings on emerging mobile technology
13 April 2015 - Edinburgh, Scotland - MCT-Congress, a two-day event dedicated to the business of mobile technology in the clinical trial space, announces the success of its second annual congress. Presented in partnership with Medidata, the leading global provider of cloud-based solutions for clinical research in life sciences, the event brought together technology influencers, patient advocates, providers and pharmaceutical business leaders to address the emerging developments, challenges and drivers that are shaping the use of mobile solutions across the clinical trials lifecycle.
The 2015 MCT-Congress hosted a diverse range of speakers, exhibitors and delegates to deliver interactive insight into the direction of mobile technologies. Exhibitors including Medidata, ERT and PHT Corporation demonstrated their latest solutions, while the event showcased influential speakers from across the clinical trials spectrum. Topic themes ranged from devices and patient centricity, to data management, user reality, policy compliance and data security. The MCT-Congress also highlighted real-world examples of the use of mobile technologies in clinical trials and the take-home successes and lessons from their first-hand application.
New additions to this year's event included Medidata's Kara Dennis, who shared how breakthroughs in cloud computing, insights from data analytics and new forms of industry collaboration are opening the door to mobile clinical trials. Other presenters included Eli Lilly's Joseph Kim and Sheila Rocchio of PHT Corporation, who addressed the real barriers to adoption. ePatient advocate, Jack Whelan, provided fascinating insight into his experience of being a clinical trial patient, while leaders from Vodafone, Exco InTouch, Medidata and Ericsson came together to look at the impact of device design.
ICON's Willie Muehlhausen and Jeff Lee of mProve Health addressed bring your own device (BYOD) and the need for clear and valuable data. Bayer's Johann Proeve discussed the issue of data overload, and CluePoints’ Marc Buyse shared his views on data quality.
