Mayo Clinic to Lay Off 100+ Employees in Shut Down
The Mayo Clinic’s New England lab will lay off over 100 employees as it closes its site in Andover.
The Andover location at 160 Dascomb Road is one of three operated by the nonprofit medical research group; it also has labs in Rochester, Minnesota, and Jacksonville, Florida, and provides lab testing for hospitals, specialty clinics and other labs.
The company said in a press release that it didn't see a long-term future for a facility that wasn't near a Mayo Clinic practice, and that the landlord had requested the company enter into a long-term lease.
