MAT9001 is a proprietary prescription-only omega-3 fatty acid-based composition, comprised of a complex mixture of omega-3 fatty acids which is under development for therapeutic applications, with severe hypertriglyceridemia (TG > 500 mg/dL) as the lead indication. Based on promising early data, the Company is preparing to file an Investigational New Drug Application (IND) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and initiate its first human study late in the third quarter/early fourth quarter 2014.
