Marken (Formerly known as Marken Time Critical) Appoints Mark R. Hembarsky To Head North American Region
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Dec. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Marken announced today the appointment of Mark R. Hembarsky as Vice President, Logistics, North America. Mr. Hembarsky will be based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and will have responsibility for the offices and associated business in North America, including the operations in New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Mr. Hembarsky has a wide range of experience across the pharmaceutical industry including discovery, development, drug substance and drug product manufacturing for clinical and commercial supply, supply chain, logistics, and other technical operations. Mark has held executive roles at GlaxoSmithKline, Valeant Pharmaceuticals and most recently Aptuit where he was responsible for drug discovery and development operations in Verona, Italy. Prior to his Verona assignment, Mark had responsibility for managing three drug development and manufacturing sites in the United Kingdom.
With a career spanning 34 years, Mr. Hembarsky has managed several operating sites, directed global operations, led strategic change initiatives and managed major capital projects. He has spent 12 years of his professional career living and working outside of the United States and has worked on both the client and the supplier side of the industry. He has deployed and successfully managed operational excellence programs in three companies. Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, Mark managed major capital projects for Exxon. He holds a BS degree in Engineering and is a Licensed Professional Engineer.
