Lucideon To Present At PODD 2015

Lucideon, the international materials company, is presenting at the 5th annual Partnership Opportunities in Drug Delivery event in Boston, USA on the 5th and 6th October. PODD 2015 will bring together a host of pharmaceutical businesses and professionals to present the latest drug delivery platforms for the pharma market.

Dr Phil Jackson will present Lucideon’s novel drug delivery platform iCRT (Inorganic Controlled-Release Technology). iCRT has been developed as a response to the needs of the pharmaceutical industry. The platform provides a range of features such as highly controllable release of the active ingredient and abuse deterrent features to prevent the intentional abuse and accidental misuse of pharmaceutical products.

Phil, Technical Manager at Lucideon, said: “We have developed iCRT as a delivery platform which offers a high level of control and predictability to the delivery of pharmaceutical drugs by using inorganic carriers. Being able to predict the release rate and control the triggers that cause release is highly beneficial to delivering active ingredients in the areas of the body where it is most needed. It allows dosing to be optimised which is more effective for the recipient and helps to prevent accidental overdose.

“iCRT also has abuse deterrent features to prevent the abuse of the pharmaceutical active it delivers. Abuse of prescription drugs has become endemic, especially in the USA, so our technology will no doubt be of great interest to the delegates attending this event.”

PODD 2015 seeks to bring together professionals from pharmaceutical and biotech companies to share the latest industry knowledge and opportunities. Industry representatives gather to network and discover the latest innovative offerings from technology providers.
