"llegal" Halloween Contact Lenses Could Cause Blindness: FDA

Though a pair of red or white-colored contact lenses may add an extra “wow” factor to your Halloween costume this year, officials are warning that many of these lenses are illegal and could even cause blindness, UPI.com reported. Government officials from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Office of Criminal Investigations, along with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Customs and Border Protection are currently in the midst of “Operation Double Vision” – a mission aimed at seizing counterfeit or illegally imported lenses not approved by the FDA.
