LifeGuard Health Names Shields CEO

DUBLIN, Pa., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- LifeGuard Health LLC today announced it has named William T. (Ted) Shields as Chief Executive Officer for the recently formed dietary supplement company. Shields' main responsibilities will be to craft the marketing direction of the company and to oversee development of new products. He will also serve as the corporate spokesperson for on-air radio infomercials. Under Shields' guidance, LifeGuard will be offering its products through consumer-targeted communications in numerous U.S. markets. There also will be retail initiatives through spas, health clubs, orthopedic centers and other medical outlets where patient care is involved.

Shields is a recognized industry powerhouse who brings to his new position nearly 40 years' experience in sales and marketing with leading manufacturing and distribution businesses. Most recently he served as president and radio spokesperson for N3 Oceanic Inc. in Palm, Pa., one of the industry's leading distributors of Omega-3 fatty acid products, and related dietary supplements. Prior to N3 he held various senior positions at New Brunswick Scientific Company, in Edison, N.J., where he worked since 1968. His primary involvement at New Brunswick was to assist pharmaceutical companies globally to start up new biological processes and to help develop new therapeutic and diagnostic products.

His formal education has included work in electronics at the Spring Garden Institute, Philadelphia, Pa.; business studies at Rutgers University Extension Div., Newark, N.J.; and Fermentation Technology at MIT, Cambridge, MA.
