Lawyers for Teen Boy Say Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) CEO Should be Forced to Testify

9/19/2012 7:40:50 AM

Lawyers are saying J&J’s CEO Alex Gorsky ought to be forced to testify about claims that the company illegally marketed the antipsychotic Risperdal, which allegedly caused boys to grow breasts. This comes from a court filing for a teen-ager suing J&J. The jury will start hearing evidence about the boy’s claims on Sept. 24, and J&J lawyers say that Gorsky will be out of the country on that date. Gorsky became J&J’s CEO in February, and succeeded Bill Weldon. The filing happened in a Philadelphia state court, and the 15-year-old Texas boy’s lawyers say that Gorsky, who once ran the unit that made and sold Risperdal, knew about J&J’s illegal marketing efforts, which targeted doctors who treat troubled teens.
