LabStyle Innovations Appoints Senior VP & General Manager In U.S. For The Dario Diabetes Management Solution

CAESAREA, Israel, July 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- LabStyle Innovations Corp. (DRIO), developer of the Dario Diabetes Management Solution, today announced the appointment of Todd Durniak as Senior Vice President and General Manager for the U.S.  Durniak brings to LabStyle over 20 years of medical device commercial and technical leadership, most recently as the Vice President and General Manager of Neighborhood Diabetes, a division of Insulet focused on delivering insulin supplies through durable medical equipment (DME) and pharmacy channels with a 'high touch' training approach.

"The U.S. is a very important and strategic market for us. Todd's vast experience in commercializing new products and services in the medical device, and specifically the diabetes market, make him the right person to lead our U.S. market launch.  He shares our vision of how Dario can transform the treatment of diabetes and he has the industry expertise and relationships to execute on making this a reality in the U.S.," stated LabStyle President and Chief Executive Officer, Erez Raphael.

"I am very excited about the Dario's smartphone-based technology and it's potential to impact the lives of individuals and their caregivers, along with physicians and payers," commented Durniak.  "I believe my experience in sales, distribution, pharmacy, and customer service operations, along with diabetic disease management, is a strong fit for successfully launching Dario to the U.S market."

Prior to Insulet and Neighborhood Diabetes, Durniak held a number of positions of increasing responsibility over 7 years at Smith & Nephew Orthopedics, most recently as President, Asia Pacific, based in Sydney, Australia.  Durniak began his career in engineering with Johnson & Johnson Orthopedics, leaving to start and manage Texas Direct Medical, an orthopedic product distributorship.  He later re-joined Johnson & Johnson post the acquisition of DePuy, moving through a series of positions before joining Guidant just prior to its acquisition by Boston Scientific. Durniak holds a BS of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Vermont and an MBA from Boston University.

LabStyle has filed a 510K application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for marketing approval of the Dario in the U.S. The Dario is already approved and launched in Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, Israel and the Netherlands.
