K2M Inc., the Leesburg-based spinal device developer, has received regulatory clearance to market a new addition to its line of minimally invasive implants, allowing doctors to complete a common form of surgery with a single incision. The new product, branded as the CAYMAN Minimally Invasive, is a single-level, lateral plate to secure spinal implants without repositioning the device, allowing access to the spine in the first place. That limits damage to surrounding muscles and tissues during the surgery.
