Juno Therapeutics CEO, Arch Co-Founder Say Federal Innovation Act Would "Trash The Next Generation" Of Biotechs

Biotech leaders in Seattle and across the country aren't too happy about a patent reform bill that's making its way through Congress. The federal bill, called the Innovation Act, directs patent holders, such as inventors or companies, that make allegations of patent infringement to use civil litigation to enforce their claims of intellectual property violations. The idea is that it will deter so-called "patent trolls" – companies that own patents but don't use them to make products – from scooping up more and more patents, then using them to force companies into expensive licensing agreements.
