Johnson & Johnson (JNJ)'s DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. (JNJ) Can't Dodge $8.3 Million Metal Hip Implant Verdict

Johnson & Johnson and its DePuy Orthopaedics subsidiary lose a bid to dismiss a $8.3 million loss in a patient injury lawsuit over the company's recalled metal-on-metal hip implants. Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) subsidiary DePuy Orthopaedics is still responsible for an $8.3 million award to a patient who claimed the companies were responsible for injuries caused by recalled hip implants. California Judge J. Stephen Czuleger rejected DePuy's request for a new trial, maintaining the jury decision handed down in March, which found that the company's metal-on-metal implants were defectively designed.
