Tailor your answers to the needs of the prospective employer. “It is about them, it’s not about you,” says Eileen Dooley, a Calgary-based professional career coach. “You are there to help them fill this position and to make them look good.” Avoid focusing on how the job will advance your career, she says. Instead, reinforce with your answers how you are ideally suited to fulfil the company’s goals.
