Investors Hope Biogen, Amgen and Celgene's Earnings Will Pull Biotech Sector Out of Slump
With biotech stocks having taken a beating since the beginning of the year, investors are hoping that good news will come this Wednesday from the state’s biggest independent drugmaker, Biogen, to help pull the sector out of its slump.
Biogen (Nasdaq: BIIB) plans to report its financial results for the last three months of 2015 and the year as a whole on Wednesday morning. The Cambridge company is considered one of the bellwethers of the industry along with two other large biotechs that are also expected to give earnings reports this week, New Jersey-based Celgene (Nasdaq: CELG) and California-based Amgen (Nasdaq: AMGN).
