Integrated DNA Technologies Release: Synthetic Biology Webinar - Genome Modifications Made Easy

CORALVILLE, IA (January 14, 2015) – Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) will host an informative webinar entitled ‘Rewriting the Genome Using CRISPR and Synthetic Biology’ complete with industry-leading techniques and advice on January 21, 2015. The webinar, by Dr Adam Clore, Manager of the Synthetic Biology Design and Support group at IDT, will be held at two different times (9am and 1pm Central Standard Time) and will describe the CRISPR mechanism and its most prominent uses. In addition, attendees will discover methods for designing, testing and executing a variety of CRISPR mediated experiments.

The CRISPR/Cas9 system, a simple gene targeting mechanism, has emerged as one of the leading tools for modifying the genomes of organisms, and has also been adapted for other applications, including gene regulation, detection of intercellular trafficking and pathogen detection. The webinar will describe how IDT can assist scientists through the challenges of CRISPR-mediated genome editing, with their custom-made, synthetic gBlocks® Gene Fragments, ideal for exploring CRISPR and Cas9 function. With a wealth of methods available in this area, the webinar aims to equip attendees with the knowledge to successfully implement and progress research using the CRISPR mechanism for a wide range of applications.
