Informational Interviews Don't Work, Try "Inside-Out" Networking
Examiner -- Dear Liz, I need to improve my networking, but I am stuck on the definition of networking ala What Color is Your Parachute. That is, I call up people who are in the field I want to work in, ask them for an informational interview, get them to chat about their job and where I might fit in, ask them if they know of anybody else I can talk to, then go to whoever they referred me to, and do it all over again.
