MINNEAPOLIS, June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Incisive Surgical, Inc. today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued the Company a key patent for its proprietary INSORB® Absorbable Skin Stapling Technology. The allowed claims include comprehensive subject matter covering the method and apparatus of the INSORB Skin Closure technology. The Company also announced that it has received a notice of allowance of patent issuance from the USPTO relating to the absorbable staple. In addition, the Company announced that the Japanese Patent Office issued a notice of allowance of patent issuance covering the method and apparatus of the INSORB Technology. The Company was issued a Japanese patent in 2010 relating to its absorbable staple. The INSORB Absorbable Skin Stapling Technology is a revolutionary new surgical modality that places an absorbable staple entirely underneath the skin to close surgical incisions.
